Dentist Game
Sixteen teeth, ten tools, one perfect smile

A patient sits in the chair with the mouth wide open, and it is a mess: yellow teeth, food stuck between them, three little germs and a green cloud of bad breath. The child picks tools from the tray and puts everything right, tooth by tooth, until all sixteen teeth sparkle. A photo of the new smile, up to three stars and a sticker are the reward.

About the game

Dentist Game is a pretend dentist's office with 36 patients in three groups: Family, Animal Friends and Fairy Tale. Lily, Grandpa, a panda, a lion, a dragon, a robot and a snowman all need the same thing, a clean and complete set of teeth. The mouth fills the middle of the screen and the tools wait on a tray at the bottom.

Every visit is different, because the game deals out the problems at random each time: which teeth are rotten, where the cavities are, what food is stuck and which germs moved in. Nothing can go wrong. A tool only works where it is needed, white rings show those places, and there is no timer.

What is inside

The lion at the start of a visit: yellow and rotten teeth, broccoli and cabbage stuck between them, two germs, and the first five tools on the tray with red counters

Open wide: what is wrong in the mouth

Each mouth has eight upper and eight lower teeth. Two of them are rotten, brown and cracked. Three have a dark cavity. Four carry lumps of green tartar along the gum, and most of the others are yellow with plaque. Three bits of food are stuck between the teeth, such as broccoli, cheese or a sweet, three colourful germs wander around behind the teeth, and green wisps of bad breath rise from the mouth.

A red badge next to every tool counts how many spots still need it. When a tool has nothing left to do, the badge becomes a green tick and the tool fades.

Dad in the chair: the orange tweezers hold a carrot they have lifted from his teeth, and white rings mark two more pieces of food

The first tray: clean-up tools

The tray shows five tools at a time. The child presses a tool, keeps the finger down and drags it into the mouth; the working end sits a little above the finger so it stays visible. Lifting the finger puts the tool back.

The tweezers pick up a piece of food, which then has to be carried out of the mouth, where it drops away. The water jet is held on a germ until it pops, and the germs try to run. The scaler scrapes tartar, the purple toothbrush scrubs plaque in a cloud of bubbles, and the drill cleans out a cavity until the dark spot turns into a pale, clean hole.

Grandpa's rotten tooth has come out and hangs in the blue forceps; the second tray shows the filling syringe, a new tooth, the mint spray and the star polisher

The second tray: repairs

A blue arrow flips the tray to the other five tools. The syringe of filling paste closes a cavity, but only one the drill has already cleaned. The blue forceps grip a rotten tooth; the child pulls away from it, the tooth wobbles and then comes out. A new white tooth from the tray is dragged to the gap and snaps into place.

The mint spray is held inside the mouth until the green cloud is gone and a few hearts float up.

The unicorn's teeth are white; the star polisher is working along the upper row, with nine teeth still to polish and two of three stars reached

Polish until every tooth sparkles

The last tool is a polisher with a yellow star on top. It works on a tooth only when that tooth is healthy: brushed, scraped, filled or replaced. Each polished tooth gives a ding and a burst of stars and keeps a small twinkle. The counter starts at 16, so the child goes round the whole mouth once more and sees the finished result.

The result card for Lily: three gold stars, a photo of her clean teeth with the words Perfect smile, a trophy sticker marked New sticker, and the home, repeat and next buttons

Stars, a photo and a sticker

The bar at the top fills as the work goes on and lights a star at one third, two thirds and the end. When everything is done, sparkles cover the mouth and the result card appears by itself: a photo of the patient with the clean teeth and the words Perfect smile. Three stars also bring the patient's sticker.

A child who has had enough can tap the tick button at the top right at any moment. The visit then ends with the stars earned so far and the words Good job or Try again. Three buttons lead back to the patient list, repeat the same patient with a fresh set of problems, or call the next patient.

The Animal Friends page of the patient list with Bunny, Panda, Kitty, Puppy, Lion and Monkey; the cards of patients already treated show three gold stars

Thirty-six patients in three groups

The patient list has six pages of six cards, each with a portrait, a name and the best stars earned so far. Family has twelve people, from Lily, Max and Zoe to Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma. Animal Friends has twelve animals, among them Bunny, Panda, Kitty, Lion, Koala and Cow. Fairy Tale has Unicorn, Dragon, Dino, Alien, Robot, Monster, Pirate, Princess, Hero, Witch, Snowman and Elf.

All 36 are open from the first minute. The orange arrows turn the pages and each group has its own background.

The first album page with the counter Stickers 13/36: a trophy, an apple, a ladybird, a sunflower and a crown are in place, the other spots show question marks

The sticker album

The pink star button opens the album. It has three pages with twelve places each, one for every patient, and a counter such as Stickers 13/36. A place shows a dashed circle with a question mark until its patient has been finished with three stars; then the sticker appears there: a trophy, an apple, a ladybird, a crown and so on. Filling the album means giving all 36 patients a perfect smile.

How to play

  1. Tap Play and choose a patient from Family, Animal Friends or Fairy Tale.
  2. Press a tool on the tray, keep the finger down and drag it to a white ring in the mouth.
  3. Lift out the food with the tweezers, wash away the germs, scrape the tartar and brush off the plaque.
  4. Drill each cavity, then tap the blue arrow and fill it with the syringe.
  5. Pull the two rotten teeth with the forceps and put a new tooth in each gap.
  6. Spray away the bad breath and polish all 16 teeth with the star polisher.
  7. Collect the photo, the stars and the sticker, then call the next patient.

For parents

Your child plays the dentist. Each visit is one mouth with sixteen teeth and seven kinds of problems, and ten tools to solve them. The child drags a tool to the marked spots and watches the change happen: plaque fades under the brush, a cavity is drilled clean and filled white, a rotten tooth comes out and a new one snaps in. At the end the whole mouth is polished.

The game cannot be lost. There is no timer, tools do nothing in the wrong place, red counters show what is left, and after a few seconds of waiting a finger shows the next move. The only order to learn is the natural one: drill before filling, pull before placing a new tooth, repair before polishing. A full visit takes a few minutes and ends with a photo card, which is a clear place to stop. The tick button lets a child finish earlier with fewer stars.

The patients have wide, worried eyes and open mouths in a cartoon style, and the mouths start out quite dirty, with germs and rotten teeth. There is no blood and nobody cries, but a child who is nervous about the dentist may want to try the first visit together with you. The drill makes a soft buzzing sound; the sound button on the title screen turns everything off.

Dentist Game works fully offline and requests no Android permissions. It has no ads, no purchases, no account, no chat and no links out, and it collects nothing. All 36 patients are free from the start. The stars, the sound setting and the language are kept in the game's storage on the device.

Questions and answers

What age is Dentist Game for?

The game has no age setting and no difficulty levels. It is played with one finger and needs no reading, and the hint finger shows the next move, so young children can play it with a little help at first. Older children tend to aim for three stars on all 36 patients to fill the album.

Is it frightening for a child who is afraid of the dentist?

It is a cartoon. There is no blood, no injection and no crying, and every visit ends with white teeth. It does show a drill, forceps and a tooth being pulled, and the patients look worried at the start, so you may want to watch the first visit together.

Can my child do something wrong?

No. A tool only works where it is needed and nothing can be damaged. Leaving early with the tick button gives fewer stars, and the same patient can be repeated as often as the child likes.

Does it need the internet?

No. The game works fully offline and requests no permissions. There are no ads and no purchases.

Does my child need to read?

No. Tools and problems are pictures and the counters are small numbers. The few words, such as the group names and Perfect smile, are available in 20 languages, picked automatically and changeable with the globe button on the title screen.

Is progress saved?

Yes, on the device: the best stars for every patient and with them the stickers, plus the sound and language settings. They are removed if the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared. A visit left half-way is not kept.

Do all patients play the same way?

Yes. Every patient has 16 teeth and the same kinds of problems, placed at random each time, so a visit never repeats exactly. The difference between the patients is the character in the chair and the sticker each one gives.
