Ear Spa
A calm pretend salon for twelve very different ears
A big, soft cartoon ear fills the screen. Your child shines a light on it, pulls funny things out with tweezers, washes and dries it, cools the red spots, tickles it with a feather and finishes with earrings, cuffs and clips. There are no timers in the salon and nothing can go wrong.

About the game
Ear Spa is a slow, tactile game built around one idea: a close-up ear and a tray of seven tools. Each visit is put together afresh, so the same patient brings a different mix of dust bunnies, honey wax, mud splashes, red spots and a small surprise sitting at the opening of the ear, such as a pea or a toy boat.
It is pretend play, and the game is careful about it. Things are only ever taken out of the ear, never put in, and no tool can be pushed into the ear canal: the game moves every tool except the light beam back to the rim. A picture note for parents says the same before the first game.
What is inside

Choose a patient
The board shows the patients as photo cards, four to a page and three pages in all: a cat, a puppy, a bunny, an elephant, a fox, a koala, a boy, two girls, a granny, an elf and a dragon. All twelve are open from the start. Each card has three stars to fill, and the counter at the top adds them up to 36.
The patients further along the board bring more to do. The cat arrives with one thing in its ear and a couple of dust bunnies; the dragon has three things, more wax and more mud. Four round buttons under the cards lead to the Shop, the Album, the Games and the Daily gift.

Light first, then tweezers
The ear starts in shadow. The child drags the pink light from the tray across it, and the beam shows what is there: fluffy dust bunnies, wavy itchy spots, sad-faced red spots and the toy hiding at the ear opening. The light also uncovers three hidden gems, and each one found is worth a coin.
With the tweezers the child pulls the toy out. It can be a bead, a pea, a button, a leaf, a star, a ball, a boat or a gummy bear, and it flies off to the coin counter. Honey wax is pulled the same way: it stretches like taffy, snaps and lands in a little dish. The fluffy swab wipes the dust bunnies away.

Wash, dry and soothe
The spray bottle washes off the brown mud in a cloud of bubbles. The rolled towel then dries the drops that are left. The amber dropper cools each red spot: one drop at a time falls on the sad face until it smiles.
A row of seven round icons at the top follows the visit: light, things, wax and dust, wash, dry, redness, tickle. Each gets a green tick when its part is done. If the child stops for a moment, the next useful tool starts to pulse, and after a little longer a finger shows the drag from the tray to the ear.

The tickle feather
The last tool is a rainbow feather. Stroking the itchy spots makes the patient giggle, hearts float up and a giggle meter on the left side fills. A full meter is one of the things needed for three stars.
The visit does not have to be complete. After four of the seven steps an orange tick button appears and the child may move on; when all seven are done the game moves on by itself.

Decorate the clean ear
Now the ear gets jewellery. Three tabs hold earrings for the lobe, cuffs for the rim and clips for the tip. The child drags a piece from the tray to the dashed circle on the ear, and a tap on a worn piece takes it off again.
A rainbow slider recolours the jewels, and the purple shuffle button puts on a random set from what the child owns. Four earrings are free from the start: pearl, star, hoop and heart. The green tick finishes the look, and the ear sparkles for a moment.

Stars, coins and a sticker
The result is a photo of the finished ear with one to three stars. One star is for finishing. Two stars need five steps done or two gems found. Three stars need all three gems, a full giggle meter and at least two jewels.
Coins are added under the photo: 10 for the visit, 5 for each star and 2 for each jewel. A spa sticker lands on the corner of the photo, one of five kinds, and each patient has all five to collect. The orange button offers the Other ear of the same patient, which is a new visit with 10 extra coins.

Shop, daily gift and three mini games
The shop sells 20 more jewels for game coins, at 20, 40 or 80 coins each. A tap on any piece shows it on an ear before buying. Each day one piece the child does not own yet is marked with a gift tag and can be taken for free. The Daily gift chest opens once a day with coins, a sticker or a jewel. Coins come only from playing; there is no way to pay with real money.
- Bubble Pop: pop the rising spray bubbles for 30 seconds; golden bubbles carry a coin.
- Pair Match: turn over 12 cards and find the 6 pairs of earrings.
- Tickle Chain: tap five glowing dots on an ear in the right order, four rounds in a row.

For parents
The child drags one tool at a time over a large picture and watches the ear change: dust disappears, mud washes off, red spots smile. Everything is done with one finger and nothing needs reading. A visit takes about two to four minutes and ends with a photo, stars and a sticker, so it is easy to agree on one more patient and then stop. Nothing in the salon is timed and no action is ever marked as wrong.
The game is pretend play and says so. A picture note shown before the first game reads: this is pretend play, never put anything into a real ear. Inside the game, tools cannot go into the ear canal and things are only taken out. The wax is honey-coloured and the dust is drawn as fluffy bunnies, so there is nothing unpleasant to look at. It is still worth telling a young child in your own words that real ears are for the doctor.
Calm mode, the moon button on the title screen, halves the volume, removes confetti and most sparkles and takes the countdown out of the Bubble Pop mini game. It suits bedtime or a child who dislikes busy screens.
Ear Spa works fully offline. It has no ads, no purchases, no account, no Android permissions, no chat and no links out, and it collects nothing. The shop uses coins earned in play only. The interface is available in 20 languages, chosen automatically and changeable with the globe button, and there is a sound on/off button. All sound is synthesised on the device.
Questions and answers
What age is Ear Spa for?
About 3 to 9. The youngest children enjoy dragging the tools and the giggles; older ones go for three stars on all 12 patients and the full sticker book.
Will this make my child want to poke things into ears?
The game is built to avoid that message: nothing is ever put into the ear, no tool can enter the ear canal, and a note for parents says clearly that this is pretend play. A short talk from you is still a good idea.
Does my child need to read?
No. Tools, steps and rewards are all pictures. The few words on screen are button labels.
Does it work offline, and are there ads or purchases?
It works fully offline. There are no ads and nothing to buy with real money. Jewels cost game coins, which come from visits, mini games and the daily gift.
How long does one session take?
One patient takes about two to four minutes. The mini games are short too: Bubble Pop lasts 30 seconds.
Is progress saved?
Yes, on the device only: stars, coins, jewels, album photos and stickers. Uninstalling the app removes them.
What is calm mode?
A switch on the title screen that makes the game quieter and less flashy and removes the only countdown in the game.
