Dino Egg Lab
Dig up an egg, hatch it, raise the baby
A dinosaur egg is hidden inside a rock. The child brushes away the dust and chips off the stone, carries the egg to a nest, warms it under a lamp and taps until the shell splits. Then the baby needs washing, feeding, a little doctoring and a game of ball, and with enough care it grows up and moves into a park.

About the game
Dino Egg Lab joins three small games into one loop. First comes the dig: a square of rock, a brush, a chisel and a hammer, and somewhere underneath an egg and a few fossils. Then the nest, where the egg is warmed and cracked open. Then the care room, where the hatchling has four needs shown as four round gauges.
Every finished need gives a care star. Six stars turn the baby into a youngster and eighteen make it fully grown, ready to live in one of five habitats. Along the way the child fills a museum with fossils, eggs and dinosaurs, dresses the park residents in hats and bows, and takes pictures for a photo book. Nothing can be broken and nothing is ever lost.
What is inside

The dig
The rock fills most of the screen. Dragging the brush sweeps the dust off in soft strokes. Where there is stone underneath, the chisel takes off one layer per tap and the hammer knocks out a wider patch. When three quarters of the egg is uncovered it pops free, and a tick appears next to the egg at the top of the screen.
Each rock also hides two to four fossils, counted in the corner, and the darker rocks hide gems. If the child stops, the game helps: the right tool pulses, a dashed outline shows where the egg lies, and a hand points to it.

Five rocks and a daily rock
Sandstone is open from the start and needs only the brush. Clay, limestone, slate and lava crust are bought with stars, for 10, 25, 50 and 80. They have more stone layers and call for the chisel and hammer; slate and lava crust carry gem veins.
Once a day the first card on this screen is a wrapped Daily rock. It always contains three fossils, one of them a piece of amber, and playing it on days in a row builds a streak of up to seven with a few extra stars each time.

Warming and hatching
In the nest the child drags a heat lamp over the egg and holds it there while an orange ring fills. The egg starts to wobble and knock. Once the ring is full, five taps crack the shell and the baby pushes the top off.
A card then shows who came out: one of eight species in one of four colourings. A dinosaur the child has not hatched before gets a New friend badge and two bonus stars. Eggs come in four patterns and six colours, and the colour gives a hint about the colouring of the baby inside.

Wash and feed
The care room has four buttons for four needs. Washing takes three steps: soap the baby with the sponge, rinse it with the shower, dry it with the towel.
For feeding there are five foods on the tray: fern, berries, melon, fish and meat. The child drags a piece to the dinosaur's mouth. Each species has two favourites, marked with a small heart, and they fill the gauge faster than food it merely tolerates. Every second favourite earns an extra star.

A small check-up and playtime
The third need is a little problem to fix, and the button shows which. A thorn in the foot is pulled with tweezers and covered with a plaster. A sore tooth is cleaned with a toothbrush and given drops in a close-up of the mouth. Sniffles get drops and a spell under the heat lamp. A circle on the dinosaur marks the spot, and the tool that is needed next wiggles on the tray.
The fourth need is fun: flick the ball and the dinosaur runs after it, four catches fill the gauge, and a rubber duck can be dropped into the puddle for a splash. A moon button puts the baby to sleep to a music box tune until it is tapped awake.

Growing up and the park
After a visit a card shows the stars earned and a growth bar with two marks, at 6 and 18 care stars. At the second mark the dinosaur is all grown up and the child picks a habitat for it: jungle, desert, swamp, snow or volcano. Jungle is free and the other four are bought with stars.
Up to six residents live in each habitat. They wander about, answer a tap with their voice and a burst of hearts, and can wear a party hat, a bow or sunglasses. A dinosaur living in its home habitat gives one bonus star a day. The camera button saves the scene to the photo book.

Museum, shop and two mini games
The museum has three halls: 18 fossils, 32 dinosaurs and 24 eggs. Anything not yet found is shown as a grey silhouette. Tapping an exhibit opens it large, and the insect inside a piece of amber wakes up and moves. Completing a set earns bonus stars.
Stars are the only currency, and the shop sells three kinds of things for them: rocks, accessories and habitats. Under Games there are Egg Match, a memory game with six pairs of eggs, and Berry Catch, where the dinosaur slides left and right for 60 seconds to catch falling food and stars while dodging stones.
How to play
- Tap Dig and choose a rock. Sandstone is open from the start.
- Brush off the dust, then use the chisel and hammer on harder rocks until the egg is free.
- In the nest, drag the heat lamp over the egg until the ring is full.
- Tap the egg five times to hatch it.
- In the care room wash, feed, treat and play with the baby to earn care stars.
- Come back for more visits: 6 care stars make it young and 18 make it grown.
- Choose a habitat for the grown dinosaur, then dig for the next egg.

For parents
The child digs, hatches and looks after. Each step is short: a rock takes a couple of minutes, hatching takes less than one, and a care visit of four needs takes a few minutes more. The tasks are shown with pictures and pulsing hints, so no reading is needed, and there is no way to fail. The hammer cannot break the egg, any food is accepted, and a hungry or unwashed dinosaur waits patiently. Only the two mini games are timed or counted.
A dinosaur grows over several visits, so the game suits short sessions on different days. The daily rock and the one-star-a-day bonus from park residents are the only daily elements, and nothing is taken away if a day is missed, apart from the streak count starting again.
The game is fully offline. It has no ads, no purchases, no account, no chat and no links out, it asks for no Android permissions and collects nothing. Stars are earned by playing and cannot be bought. The parent corner opens with a three second hold on the gear and holds the sound switch, the language list and a reset that needs a second long hold. There are 20 interface languages, chosen automatically, and all sound is synthesised.
Questions and answers
What age is Dino Egg Lab for?
Ages 3 to 9. Younger children enjoy brushing, hatching and feeding; older ones collect all 32 dinosaurs and fill the museum.
Does my child need to read?
No. Tools, needs and prices are pictures and numbers. The only words are menu labels and the dinosaur's species name on its card.
Does it work offline?
Yes, completely. The app has no internet permission and makes no network calls.
Are there ads or purchases?
No. New rocks, habitats and accessories are bought with stars earned in the game, and stars cannot be bought with money.
Is anything scary or sad?
No. Dinosaurs are round, smiling babies. The check-up is a thorn, a stained tooth or sniffles, fixed in two steps. A pet that is not cared for waits as it is and never leaves.
Is progress saved?
Yes, on the device only. Reset progress in the parent corner erases it, and so does uninstalling the app.
Does the photo book use the camera?
No. A photo is a picture of the park scene drawn by the game. The app has no camera or gallery access.
